The Florida Destruction of Education Act (HB 7 - "Individual Freedom") otherwise known as Governor DeSantis' anti-W.O.K.E Act is a legilsative priority this session.
This anti-trans+, anti-ethnic minority, anti-immigrant omnibus bill would reshape the Florida Education Equity Act (Statute 1000.05) to allow for the discrimination and oppression of gender diverse people, immigrant people, and people of a non-dominant ethnicity in K-20 education systems (students and employees). It will expand the ideology of discrimination in systems of power in Florida schools by indoctrinating children and staff to protect and teach systems of white supremacy and anti-transgender hate and exclusion.
