Bill Tracking

We are monitoring hundreds of bills that span the breadth of the ACLU’s policy concerns. Below are the priority bills that we will be tracking throughout this legislative session.

SB 2C - Anti-Immigrant Special Session Bill

Among other things, it creates the State Board of Immigration Enforcement within the Department of Law Enforcement, comprising the Governor and Cabinet as agency head. Appropriates $300 million to support Trump’s mass deportation agenda.

SB 4C - Anti-Immigrant Special Session Bill

Provides that “an unauthorized alien who is 18 years of age or older and who knowingly enters or attempts to enter this state after entering the United States by eluding or avoiding examination or inspection by immigration officers” commits a first degree misdemeanor punishable by 9 months in jail.
