Despite rampant voter suppression, and in spite of an outgoing president and his allies trying to cast doubt on the legitimacy of our electoral process, in a victory for democracy, there was historic voter turn out in Black communities across the country. Join our Volusia/Flagler Chapter and Executive Director Dr. Micah Kubic on Tuesday, February 9, to discuss ways the ACLU of Florida is working to end voter suppression in Florida.

For decades, politicians have passed laws creating significant burdens for eligible voters trying to exercise their most fundamental constitutional right. Since 2008, states across the country have passed measures to make it harder for Americans—particularly Black people, the elderly, students, and people with disabilities—to exercise their fundamental right to cast a ballot. These measures include cuts to early voting, voter ID laws, and purges of voter rolls. And, in Florida, this also includes thwarting Amendment 4, which disproportionately impacts Black returning citizens.

Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy. Join us to talk about how we're working to get rid of these harmful voter suppression measures once and for all.
