Take Action to demand the Governor stay the execution of John Ferguson due to his mental illness.
John Ferguson has been on death row for 35 years. His execution is to take place on August 5th, 2013. But Mr. Ferguson is mentally handicapped due to a traumatic brain injury at the age of 21, having been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia over 40 times, and therefore his execution is prohibited under the Eighth Amendment.
Florida is one of the country's leaders in death sentences and executions. Ferguson's execution would be another grave injustice on the state's long list. The Supreme Court must step in before Florida executes a man who is severely mentally ill.
Tell Governor Scott to respect the Constitution and stay the execution of a mentally ill citizen.
