Keisha Mulfort is a dynamic leader and Senior Communications Strategist at the ACLU of Florida since May 2024. With a deep background in strategic communications and civil rights advocacy, Keisha specializes in crafting powerful narratives, fostering purposeful collaboration, and championing meaningful change. Her work spans critical areas such as criminal justice reform, First Amendment rights, racial justice, reproductive freedom, and voting rights, all aimed at empowering communities and driving societal progress.

Before joining the ACLU, Keisha directed high-profile campaigns and held key leadership positions as Campaign Manager and Director of Communications for State Attorney Monique Worrell. At the State Attorney's Office, 9th Judicial Circuit of Florida, she served as Chief of Staff and Director of Public Affairs, where she led transformative initiatives, including the Adult Civil Citation Diversion Program, the Brady Review Officer Accountability team, and the creation of the office's first full Public Affairs division. Her passion for education and equity was also evident during her tenure with Orange County Public Schools, where she served as an advisor and athletics coach, and developed programs that improved equity and student access while demystifying the college admissions process.

Keisha is a proud double HBCU graduate, holding dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Political Science from Fayetteville State University, and a Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University’s College of Law. She also earned a master’s degree in Sport Management and Legal Studies from PennWest California. She is a dedicated financial member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, serves as President of the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association Foundation, and Board Chairperson for The PLUG 4 Connection, an educational nonprofit.

Driven by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a relentless pursuit of justice, Keisha approaches her work with the conviction that it's never just about getting things done—it's about pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and making a lasting impact in every space she enters. Her unwavering commitment to advocacy and equity for marginalized communities ensures that her work with the ACLU of Florida will continue to inspire, drive critical conversations, and advance the cause of a society where inclusion and justice are realities for her beautiful baby girl, Kwin, not just ideals.
