Katherine Perriel joined the ACLU of Florida in June 2021 as the Statewide Organizer for Criminal Justice.
Empowering others and creating change became a passion for Katherine on yearly trips to Haiti. She carried this passion into her time at Miami Dade College while serving as the Legislative Liaison for the Student Government Association. Upon completing her Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Florida International University, Katherine began working in the social services field working focusing on education, this ignited her desire to make change on a macro level.
Katherine’s passion for empowerment and creating change alongside her background in social n services helped her to transition into becoming a Parent Organizer, working with parents and schools to advocate on behalf of their students. This experience gave Katherine the foundation to now join the ACLU where she will be working with communities to reform the criminal justice system.
