Electoral Democracy and Voting Rights
The freedom to vote is fundamental to democracy, and it’s under attack in Florida.
We will work to ensure fair elections where every eligible voter can cast a ballot and have it accurately counted.
We will oppose legislation that manipulates our electoral system, disenfranchises eligible voters, or makes it harder to participate in our democracy.
We will work to undo harmful measures already enacted.
Free Speech
Over the past several sessions, attacks on First Amendment rights have come in many forms: crackdowns on demonstrations, restrictions on recording law enforcement, censorship of media and reporters, book bans, and limits on learning and discussion about race and gender in schools and higher education. These government censorship measures are designed to silence diverse perspectives.
We will oppose legislation that seeks to silence or criminalize the exercise of any person’s First Amendment rights.
Immigrants’ Rights
One out of every five people in Florida were not born in the U.S. It’s critical that every person, regardless of status, can live, work, go to school, raise children, and travel without fear of violence, harassment, or discrimination.
This session, we will continue efforts to defeat anti-immigrant legislation and advocate for greater protections for all Floridians, regardless of their place of birth.
Reproductive Freedom
The overwhelming majority of Floridians support the freedom to make personal healthcare decisions without government interference. And yet, state leaders have stripped Floridians of access to reproductive health care, including abortion care. Safeguarding reproductive freedom is essential to equality, autonomy, economic self-sufficiency, and dignity.
We will oppose any efforts to erode reproductive freedom further and push for policies that ensure every Floridian can make their own healthcare decisions free from government interference.
LGBTQ+ Equality
We will support comprehensive LGBTQ+ protections in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, medical care, and government services.
We are committed to ensuring LGBTQ+ Floridians and gender non-conforming individuals can live openly with dignity and respect—and we will oppose any legislation that denies these basic human rights.
Racial Justice and Criminal Legal Reform
Florida’s criminal legal system locks too many people up for far too long and is designed to disproportionately criminalize, incarcerate, and disenfranchise people of color and those with fewer resources.
We will oppose legislation that deepens these harms and support legislation that empowers marginalized communities and advances real safety, fairness, and justice.
