Take Action During the 2021 Legislative Session

In Florida, three discriminatory, restrictive, and dangerous bills are up for votes in the legislature this week.

Send your email: Tell your Florida State Senator to vote NO on HB1.

HB1, Gov. DeSantis’ anti-peaceful-protest bill, will be heard by the full Florida Senate on Wednesday, April 14. This bill will chill free speech, silence dissent, and criminalize peaceful protesters.

Send your email: Tell the Senate Rules Committee to vote NO on SB90.

SB90 will be heard by the Senate Rules Committee on Wednesday, April 14. This bill will make it harder for Floridians to cast a ballot by mail. It completely eliminates secure drop boxes, which more than 1.5 million Floridians used during the 2020 election. It also makes it a crime for voters to ask a trusted friend or caregiver to pick up or drop off a vote-by-mail ballot, limiting voting access for elderly, working, and mobility-impaired Floridians.

Send your email: Tell the Senate Rules Committee to vote NO on SB2012.

SB2012 will also be heard by the Senate Rules Committee on Wednesday, April 14. This bill will entirely eliminate the ability of girls and women who are transgender to participate in athletics. Transgender students need to be affirmed and supported, not discriminated against, ostracized, and excluded. This bill is unnecessary, unconstitutional, and harmful to our youth.

The Florida Legislative Session ends on Friday, April 30, and there are still dozens of harmful bills on the table that will impact Floridians’ civil liberties and civil rights. Please take 5 minutes to send these three emails to make your voice heard.
