Racial Org's Gather in Virtual Event to Denounce SB90 & HB7041
SB90 & HB7041 Aim to Obstruct Floridian’s Fundamental Right to Vote

Orlando, FL. – On Monday April 12th, racial and voter justice organizations in Florida as well as community members, who might be impacted if Senate Bill 90 & House Bill 7041 passed during this year's legislature, will be gathering in a virtual vigil to provide more details on two bills that can have detrimental effects on Floridian’s right to vote.

Following an election that yielded historical turnout, the Florida Legislature is poised to obstruct Floridian’s access to the ballot box, with the measures proposed by SB90 and HB7041. The restricting measures come on the heels of a settlement reached by LatinoJustice PRLDEF and other advocates with 31 Florida counties to break down language barriers and ensure language accessibility for Spanish-dominant voters in the state.

SB90 and HB7041 presents an attack on voting rights to all, but especially to our most vulnerable populations, the older and disabled people who are not as mobile; and minorities who might have less access to polling hours due to working more than one job or lack of transportation including those with language barriers.

WHO: LatinoJustice PRLDEF, CHISPA Florida, Alianza for Progress, American Civil Liberties Union of Florida, All Voting Is Local, La Mesa Boricua de Florida, Iniciativa Acción Puertorriqueña, Mi Familia Vota, FL Student Power Network, Iglesia Episcopal Jesus de Nazaret & impacted voters
