Organizations call on corporations based in Florida to condemn the bills

TALLAHASSEE, FL -- On Wednesday, April 14, voting and civil rights organizations will host a virtual press conference about Senate Bill 90, a restrictive voting bill, and House Bill 1, an anti-protest bill, which are both making their way through the Florida Legislature. These bills are part of the nationwide trend in state legislatures where anti-democratic bills are being pushed. In this year alone, more than 360 voter suppression bills have been filed in 47 states, and 220 anti-protest bills have been filed in 45 states.

Organizations across the state are calling on corporations based in Florida to join corporations across the country in denouncing voter suppression and discriminatory bills. Corporations being called on by this coalition include Publix, GEO Group, Disney, NBCUniversal, Darden Group, Office Depot and Seaworld.
