Everyone deserves the right to decide when and whether to start a family, no matter where they live. But across half the states, including Florida, people have lost or are in danger of losing that right after the Supreme Court’s shameful decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
In Florida, House Bill 5, which restricts abortions after 15 weeks, was passed earlier this spring. It prevents people from getting an abortion after 15 weeks and threatens to imprison doctors for providing necessary care for their patients.
To demonstrate what’s at stake, we called for stories from people who have had abortions — people of all genders, ages, faiths, and socioeconomic backgrounds — to tell us why abortion should be a fundamental right.
