No child should be forced to have a child against their will.

We need to stop Senate Bill 404, a bill that is expected to be heard on Wednesday, January 15, during the first week of the 2020 legislative session. The State of Florida already requires parental notification of a minor seeking to end an unintended pregnancy. In reality, these “parental consent bills” will decrease the likelihood that minors who are pregnant will confide in their parents or guardians and result in them seeking unsafe methods to end their pregnancies.

Call Senate President Galvano at 941-741-3401 or Judiciary Chair Senator Simmons at 407-262-7578 and urge them to not move forward with this legislation.

Suggested call script to Senate President Galvano:

"Hi, my name is _________ and I am incredibly disappointed to hear that President Bill Galvano is pushing for the unconstitutional SB 404. This bill uses young people as pawns to attempt to reverse Florida’s version of Roe v. Wade."

Suggested call script to Judiciary Chair Senator Simmons:

"Hello, my name is _________________. I am urging Senator David Simmons to stand up for our state’s constitution and not schedule SB 404 in the Senate Judiciary Committee. This bill is an attack on young people and an attack on Florida’s constitution. It is attempting to use young people as a pawn to reverse Florida’s version of Roe v. Wade."
