Join our Palm Beach County Chapter on Sunday, April 8 for their 2018 Annual Meeting, Glasner Award Ceremony, and chapter elections.
Enjoy an afternoon with ACLU supporters and neighbors as we honor the 2018 recipients of the Harriette S. Glasner Awards, given to honor lifelong devotion to fighting for civil liberties. This year, we will honor:
- Les Rivkin, Palm Beach County Chapter ACLU Board Member, for his stellar work gathering petition signatures to place the Voting Restoration Amendment on the ballot, and his work protecting civil liberties.
- Rick Christie, editorial page editor, Palm Beach Post, for his consistent expression of broad civil libertarian positions through his editorial work.
The afternoon will feature a special address from Rick Christie, followed by a Q&A session. You'll also hear an overview of the current state of civil liberties from ACLU of Florida Executive Director Howard Simon. Current ACLU members will also be able to vote for the chapter's board and participate in chapter elections. Light refreshments will also be served.
Whether you're an ACLU member, or if this is your first meeting, we're excited to have you join us! Send us an email to let us know if you can make it.
