Facebook Live - Broward County Sheriff Virtual Candidate Forum

September 30, 2020 @ 7:00 pm
@ 8:30 pm

On Wednesday, September 30, hear from candidates for Broward County Sheriff at our next virtual candidate forum. The event is being hosted by the Broward Chapter of the ACLU of Florida and the League of Women Voters of Broward County.

Since George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Daniel Prude, Salaythis Melvin and Tony McDade's murder by law enforcement, we have continued to witness cops shoot, brutalize, and kill Black and brown people and people suffering from mental health issues in our communities. Enough is enough.

As we continue our fight for racial justice in America, you have the power to elect and vote for a Sheriff this November who will hold cops accountable for their actions by taking officer-involved shootings and incidents of excessive force seriously by investigating them and holding police accountable. The violence against Black and brown people at the hands of law enforcement has existed long before they were captured on camera and Sheriffs play a huge role in ensuring that cops are not above the law.

On Wednesday, September 30, join us to hear from sheriff candidates who want to represent and serve Broward County residents, and how they will pursue racial justice and advance civil rights and liberties in our communities.

The event will be streamed live on Facebook at the Broward County Chapter of the ACLU of Florida's Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BrowardACLU And, the League of Women Voters of Broward County's Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/BrowardLWV
