Every day, racist policing terrorizes people of color in every aspect of life. Running while Black. Breathing while Black. Driving while Black. It is a matter of life and death. Yet, too often law enforcement is not held accountable for their actions.
As protesters take to the streets all across our country and in Florida, we have seen egregious instances of unprovoked violence by police. Law enforcement across the state of Florida have pepper-sprayed, tased, kicked, shoved and beaten protesters who are exercising their Constitutional right to take to the streets and demand justice. Call on your State Attorney to not charge protesters for exercising their First Amendment right to protest and demand justice.
The violence against Black people at the hands of law enforcement has existed long before it was captured on camera. This violence is rooted in the systemic racism that plagues this country. At this moment, we need bold action from our elected officials to prevent another senseless killing at the hands of the police.
Tell your State Attorney: #NotOneMore. Hold police officers accountable.
