Maggie Block is Director of Finance for the ACLU of Florida in Miami.

She joined the ACLU in 2018 as Finance and Administration Manager, after years of providing Legal and Financial Services to Non-Profits in South Florida. Maggie graduated from Barry University with bachelor’s in social work. She then attended St. Thomas School of Law and received a Master in Law in Intercultural Human Rights and a Juris Doctorate. During school she interned with Public Interest organizations working with the homeless, children with disabilities, and immigration law for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Maggie began her career working as a social worker for children with disabilities, and managed and evaluated afterschool programs all over Miami. After law school she worked with St. Thomas University’s Human Trafficking Academy, educating South Florida of warning signs, services available, and survivor’s rights.  She practiced law as a staff attorney advocating for children’s rights with Guardian ad Litem. She began her solo practice helping start-up non-profits with corporate needs and worked with her partner providing outsourced CFO services.
