Heather St. Amand joined the ACLU of Florida as one of the Statewide Campaign for Justice Organizers in October 2021.
An alumni of Saint Leo University, Heather has done extensive work for Florida based organizations on both electoral and issue based campaigns. She spent the bulk of 2017 and 2018 working to first get Amendment 4 on the ballot, and then to get it passed to restore voting rights to over 1.4 million returning citizens.
As a labor organizer with SEIU, Heather spent the entirety of 2019 helping adjunct professors across the state of Florida build worker power and form their unions. She is proud to have helped both Miami Dade College and St Petersburg College win their unions.
As the parent of a transgender child, Heather is a tireless advocate for the trans community and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole. She has held a seat on the executive board of Pasco Pride since 2017 as their Director of Community Outreach.
