The Greater Tampa Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida (FL) is chartered for the local ACLU membership of Greater Tampa including the Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk and Sumter Counties of Florida. Pinellas County ACLU members have a separately chartered chapter. The southern Greater Tampa Bay counties are chartered to the Sarasota Chapter of the ACLU of Florida.

The Greater Tampa ACLU Chapter active communications environment is the Yahoo Group ACLUTampa (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ACLUTampa)

The Yahoo Group communications environment includes an email list, calendering, documents, photos and other information that is maintained by chapter volunteers. The Yahoo Group ACLUTampa is MODERATED, which means that all communications must be approved. The Greater Tampa ACLU chapter Board intends to limit the use of the communications environment at Yahoo Groups to ACLU only communications. Greater Tampa ACLU emails will only be used to advertise ACLU activities and highlight important issues. Please register at our Yahoo Groups web site to keep current on Greater Tampa Bay Civil Liberties. This group environment also allows YOU to choose several different options on how and when you receive email. Those options include receiving NO email and just visiting the site for information when YOU choose to visit the site.

ACLU of Florida Board of Directors Representatives elected by the Greater Tampa ACLU Board include the following Greater Tampa ACLU Directors (alphabetical):  Mr. Ahmed Bedier; Ms. Lynnette Garcia; Mr. Michael E. Pheneger, Colonel, US Army Retired, was also elected President of the ACLU of Florida Board by the ACLU of Florida Board; Mr. Steven (Steve) W. Ms. Lorie Fridell, Ph.D., from the Greater Tampa ACLU area was elected by the ACLU of Florida Board as the Board's representative to the National ACLU Board of Directors.
