Our Issues

 The issues we are currently focused on are:

1. Religious freedom: working to make sure that every Florida citizen can worship as he or she pleases (or not at all), without the government intervening in our religious lives; and working to make sure that government heeds the Bill of Rights, as well as the Florida Constitution which states:

"There shall be no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting or penalizing the free exercise thereof. Religious freedom shall not justify practices inconsistent with public morals, peace or safety. No revenue of the state or any political subdivision or agency thereof shall ever be taken from the public treasury directly or indirectly in aid of any church, sect, or religious denomination or in aid of any sectarian institution."

2. Voter Suppression: Florida has passed the most restrictive voter repression laws in the entire USA. A major goal, on both our local and state levels, is to get this law repealed, and have the courts declare it unconstitutional. (Not to mention the recent outrageous state laws regarding felons and their right to vote.)
