JACKSONVILLE ACLU Speaks Out Against Amendment 2 First Coast Pride Event, July 26 & 27

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Northeast Florida Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida is proud to support and participate in Jacksonville's First Coast Pride Festival "Pride Begins with You" on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27 at Historic Riverside Park.

On Sunday, July 27 from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. David Ganim, ACLU Field Organizer will describe how voting in November for proposed Amendment #2 could threaten shared healthcare plans offered by government agencies and universities, deny domestic partners the right to visit their loved ones in the hospital and jeopardize domestic partner registries that exist in many cities and counties in Florida.

In addition to Ganim's presentation urging voters to vote no on Amendment 2, the Northeast Florida Chapter of the ACLU will have a booth at the PRIDE market and march in the PRIDE parade on the evening of Saturday, July 26. Join us. See you there with pride!
