Chapter Meetings

March 9 2011; Tallahassee, Fla. ? Governor Scott and members of the Cabinet voted unanimously today to tighten the rules of executive clemency, which will eliminate automatic restoration of rights for convicted felons.

Click below to find the amended rules of executive clemency. The rules were approved by a 4-0 majority of the clemency board, which consists of the Governor and the Florida Cabinet.

Executive Clemency Rules

Meetings of the Broward Chapter are held at the Jim Ward Community Center on the third Monday of each month (whenever possible) at 6:30 PM. ACLU members and the general public are invited to attend. However, to protect the confidentiality of discussions about clients and litigation, the portion of the Chapter's Legal Panel and Board Meeting that addresses legal strategy or a decision about representing a specific client will not be open to the public. Please note that during January and February, meetings will be held the SECOND Monday of the month due to holidays.
