Why you may wish to volunteer for the Brevard ACLU

"There is no one giant step that does it. It's a lot of little steps."
-- Peter Cohen

The Brevard Chapter of the ACLU of Florida is a volunteer organization.

Volunteers are what make the ACLU Brevard Chapter work.  Volunteers serve on the Board of Directors, lead and staff committees, and generally do all the tasks that help make the Chapter function.

While ACLU attorneys litigate for justice in the courts, volunteers are needed to make many essential things happen. Your presence can make the difference.

Those who volunteer determine what will be accomplished.  If you have an issue you would like the ACLU to champion, the best way to accomplish this may be to get involved, volunteer, educate us about your issue, and help us help you.

Examples of projects that volunteers help with include:

* Newsletter

* Jail Reform

* Gender Equality

* Membership Recruitment

* Intake of Questions/Issues/Complaints

* Fundraising

* Religious Liberty/Discrimination

* Children's Rights

* Naturist Issues

* Privacy Issues

* Police Practices

* Gay/Lesbian Discrimination
